¹⁴ and said to them, “You brought this man before me and accused him of inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined him here in your presence and have not found him guilty of any of the charges you have brought against him. ¹⁵ Nor did Herod, for he has sent him back to us. It is clear that he has done nothing deserving of death. ¹⁶ Therefore, I will have him scourged and then release him.”
